WATCH: Lorry ploughs through level crossing barrier causing train delays

Footage has been released showing the moment a lorry ploughed through a level crossing barrier, causing delays for trains across the West Midlands.

One barrier was completely destroyed after the vehicle smashed into it at Hartlebury station, south of Kidderminster, this morning.

All lines were disrupted between Stourbridge Junction and Droitwich Spa in the aftermath, with cancellations and delays of up to 60 minutes as a result.

Trains were forced to run at a slower speed as staff worked to re-attach the broken barrier after the lorry crash at 9.56am.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "The vehicle is reported to have driven through the crossing and hit one of the barriers as it lowered.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

The disruption was expected to last until the end of the day.

West Midlands Railway tweeted: "Due to a road vehicle colliding with level crossing barriers between Kidderminster and Stourbridge Junction all lines are disrupted.

"We have been advised by Network Rail that we can run through with caution.

"Train services may be cancelled, delayed or revised. "
