Filmed by a dog walker, the footage was first posted earlier this month and lasts for around around 90 seconds. One version of the video on the Brumz Updates Facebook page has already been viewed almost 500,000 times.

National Express has now confirmed that it has taken disciplinary action against the driver.

A spokesman for National Express West Midlands said: "We are aware of an incident involving a bus and a pedestrian that happened on Powis Avenue in Tipton.

"National Express West Midlands has carried out a full investigation into what happened and taken action in accordance with our disciplinary procedures."

The incident was filmed in Tipton and features a man with a thick West Midlands accent

The footage begins with the man standing with his back to the bus, in a bid to block the vehicle's path.

However, undeterred, the driver then accelerates slowly towards the man.

But the man refuses to move, only walking forwards when the bus pushes against him.

The woman filming the clip shouts: "Look what you are doing."

The man then turns around and faces the driver, while now walking backwards, and shouting: "Look how you are running man over."

After turning a corner, the bus driver decides to stop the vehicle, with the angry pedestrian still standing in front of him.

A confrontation then takes place. The man shouts at the driver, while the driver, in turn, points at his head, in a gesture indicating that the man should think what he is doing.

The pedestrian, pointing at the front glass window, shouts: "You can't touch me with your bus. It doesn't matter blood, I'm a pedestrian. You can't touch me with your bus."

It is unclear what disciplinary action the driver has faced.

West Midlands Police was approached for comment.
