Charlotte's amazing weight loss journey

Charlotte, 28, decided to act after her father died suddenly from a heart condition in 2016.

She was frightened that she had the same condition as her father and her size was going to put strain on her heart.

Shortly after her father died, Charlotte discovered she was pregnant with her son and it was then that she learned how much she weighed.

She said: “The midwife weighed me at my first appointment and she told me I weighed just over 17 stone, I was mortified!

“I still get embarrassed now about it and it’s been something I’ve not even let my close friends and family know; what my original weight was.”

Charlotte was adamant she was going to be a healthy mum to her son and vowed to act fast with losing weight.

“Losing weight was such a struggle. I managed to lose some on my own but kept finding myself slipping into old bad habits so I searched online for my local Slimming World group and messaged the consultant Elaine, then plucked up the courage to go," she said.

Since joining Slimming World, Charlotte has gone from trying to squeeze into size 18 to 20 clothes to a size 12.

She added: “Slimming World has changed my life, I couldn’t have done it without Elaine and the group support. I would 100 per cent recommend it to anyone, if I can do it anyone can.”
