Staff celebrate opening of new £5.2m primary school

A new £5.2 million primary school and nursery has officially opened in Hednesford – with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Poppyfield Primary Academy in Hednesford is officially open

Poppyfield Primary Academy, based in The Limes development in Pye Green, opened to pupils in September but held a celebratory opening event yesterday.

Headteacher Rebecca Scordis said it was a “brilliant” day.

She added: “It was such a good demonstration of community and commitment to the school. We’ve had lots of positive feedback.”
