Youngsters at a Kidderminster nursery have been busy painting and decorating Christmas cards as part of a festive appeal to spread joy to the elderly and housebound.

The children at Little Trinity Nursery have been decorating the cards in support of this year's Kidderminster Library's Christmas Card Appeal.

Every year the nursery supports the appeal with the children making truly distinctive Christmas cards, which are then distributed by Kidderminster Library to the elderly and housebound in the local community at Christmastime, together with a selection of library books for them to read and enjoy throughout the whole of the festive season.

Gaynor Carter, Little Trinity Nursery manager, said: "The children love creative activities and this seasonal pursuit allows them to show off their artistic skills.

"This Christmas activity is an opportunity to express themselves and it’s just a lot of fun, whilst helping to support their development of fine motor skills as they practice writing their name on the inside of their Christmas card.

“Supporting the Christmas Card Appeal is such as worthwhile cause. It helps spread a little joy within the local community for those who may not be able to share Christmas with family.”
