Today the nervous wait was finally over for thousands of teenagers as crucial exam results are revealed across the West Midlands and the UK.

We carried you the latest news and reaction from across the region on the day that determines how many youngsters (and mature students) will spend the next few years of their lives.

It's also the first results day since A-levels began to be overhauled to shift the focus to a final exam.

This year, the first grades will be given in 13 subjects which have been reformed to move the emphasis away from regular coursework and modular exams and onto one final test.

These subjects are: art and design, biology, business, chemistry, computer science, economics, English language, English language and literature, English literature, history, physics, psychology and sociology.
