Robber on the run after £5,000 cash stolen from village Spar

Police are searching for a robber after around £5,000 was stolen from a village Spar.

The money was stolen from the Spar in Wardles Lane, Great Wyrley, by two robbers at around 4.45pm on September 21.

Approximately £5,000 in cash was reported stolen from the store, with the robbers fleeing the scene in a Ford Fiesta before police arrived.

A 39-year-old man was arrested a short time later but the second suspect has not been found and officers have asked anyone with dash-cam footage of the area at the time of the robbery to get in touch.

The second man is described as white, of skinny build and approximately six foot tall.

He is believed to have been wearing a navy blue long-sleeved jumper and grey jogging bottoms with bright white trainers at the time.

Matthew Baddeley, of no fixed address, has been charged with robbery and appeared at North Staffordshire Justice Centre, where he was remanded in custody ahead of a further court appearance due on November 29.
