£800,000 cannabis farm raided in Wolverhampton

A cannabis factory worth an estimated £800,000 was raided at a property in Wolverhampton.

More than 800 plants were found growing in multiple rooms of a property in Albert Road, in the Whitmore Reans area of the city.

West Midlands Police executed a drugs warrant at the address at around 4.30pm on Tuesday after acting upon intelligence from the community.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A warrant was executed in Albert Road where plants were found in multiple rooms."

A Twitter account for St Peter's Ward policing team said: "Thanks to intelligence from the community we have executed a warrant and recovered in excess of 800 cannabis plants."

Hundreds of cannabis plants were seen growing under artificial lights inside the property.

Light bulbs and wiring could be seen hanging from the ceiling.

The police investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
