Man and woman arrested over alleged terror offences

Birmingham | Crime | Published:

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences.

A 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were detained in Birmingham on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, West Midlands Police said.

An address in the city was also being searched by officers as part of the investigation while the suspects are being held at a police station.

A spokesman said: “The arrests, linked to Islamist-related terrorism, were pre-planned. They are not linked to the London Bridge terror attack.”
