Man taken to hospital after Castle Bromwich stabbing

A man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Castle Bromwich.

The incident happened in Green Lane at about 7.40pm yesterday.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was taken to hospital with an arm injury which is not thought to be life threatening.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Green Lane, Castle Bromwich at around 7.40pm last night.

"A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital with an arm injury which is not thought to be life threatening.

"Investigations are at the early stages and anyone with information can contact us quoting crime reference number 20SH/267117D/19, via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight, call 101 anytime or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Claire Brown, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing outside Gregory’s Fish Bar, Green Lane, Castle Bromwich at 7.41pm last night.

"An ambulance, paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor attended.

"One man sustained an injury and received trauma care on scene by ambulance staff before being taken on blue lights to hospital for further treatment."
