Hannah Wilson was a call handler for Force Contact, West Midlands Police's biggest department

Hannah Wilson, who worked within West Midlands Police Force Contact answering emergency calls from the public, handed out information to three people during her time at the force.

The 31-year-old gossiped to a pub landlady on incidents reported at other pubs and was found to be giving information to her sister on people they both knew by checking their criminal records.

She also gave her sister's partner details about a court case he was a defendant in.

Jayne Lloyd, landlady of the Knights Quest pub, was given a suspended sentence

She was arrested in September last year and charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office between October 2017 and August 2018.

Wilson resigned from her position under police investigation and pleaded guilty to the charges along with her 38-year-old sister Hayley Wilson.

Hayley's partner Allan Stewardson, aged 49, and 61-year-old Jayne Lloyd, landlady of the Knights Quest pub in Rowley Regis, were found guilty of conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office at a trial in September.

Allan Stewardson from Rowley Regis was given a suspended sentence

Det Ch Insp Julian Harper, from the West Midlands Police professional standards department, said: "I am deeply disappointed that a member of West Midlands Police abused their position to access police systems to supply information to associates.

"She betrayed the trust that people put in the police to handle their personal information appropriately.

"This form of corrupt activity undermines the community’s confidence in the police service and we have absolutely zero tolerance for it.

Hayley Wilson was also given a suspended sentence

"We will actively pursue any person committing crime, whether they are a member of the public or they work for West Midlands Police. They simply have no place in our organisation."

Hannah Wilson, of Waldron Close in Wednesbury, was sentenced to 14 months in prison at Birmingham Crown Court.

Hayley Wilson, of Ely Close in Rowley Regis, received a 10-month sentence suspended for two years and 200 hours of community service.

Allan Stewardson, also of Ely Close, was sentenced to 15 months suspended for two years and given a three-month curfew.

Jayne Lloyd, who lived at and ran the Knights Quest pub, was handed a nine-month sentence suspended for two years and 200 hours of community service.
