Forty plants were seized from the home in Lichfield Road, between Wednesfield and New Invention.

Officers found the front door had been damaged after arriving at 11.55am on Sunday.

West Midlands Police officers have launched an investigation but officers are yet to make any arrests.

Photographs published by West Midlands Police show a gaping hole was left in an outside door to the property.

Cannabis leaves were also seen scattered across the ground.

The discovery prompted concern from Wednesfield North councillor Phil Bateman who tweeted: "There seems to be a real increase in this farming of cannabis in and around Wednesfield."
