Rise in distraction burglaries in Cannock

By Jordan Reynolds | Cannock | Crime | Published:

An increase in distraction burglaries has been reported in Cannock.

Staffordshire Police said the majority of offences involve offenders going to homes on weekday mornings between 9.30am and 11.30am

A spokesman said: "The offenders offer work on the property such as building work, driveways, fencing, roofing or guttering, they demand money for work that has not been completed and should the opportunity arise they also search the house and steal cash.

"Please be vigilant and do not agree to any work from unknown males."
