Cradley Heath woman charged with murdering Mark Lloyd

A Cradley Heath woman has been charged with murdering a man who died after being assaulted during a street robbery.

Mark Lloyd died in hospital over a week after he was assaulted during a robbery

Mark Lloyd was left in a critical condition after he was assaulted in Aldridge Road, in Perry Barr, at around 11.10pm on Saturday, September 21.

The 39-year-old, from Kingstanding, died in hospital over a week later on Sunday, September 29.

Shannon Cronin, from Clyde Street, in Cradley Heath, was arrested and charged with murder on Wednesday..

The 23-year-old appeared in front of Birmingham Magistrates' Court this morning.

Cronin has been remanded in custody until October 7 where she will appear before Birmingham Crown Court.

A 26-year-old man who was remanded in custody accused of robbery will also be requestioned in relation to Mr Lloyd's murder.

West Midlands Police Detective Inspector Jim Church, from Force CID, said: "This was initially treated as a robbery but we are clearly now looking at a murder enquiry as Mr Lloyd sadly died from his injuries.

“I would appeal for anyone who saw what happened or anyone acting suspiciously to call us as they may have important information."

In a statement, Mr Lloyd’s heartbroken family said: "Mark was a much-loved father, brother, son, partner and friend to so many people.

"He has been taken from us in the most unfair of ways. He will be missed so much by us all."
