Teenager arrested over car thefts released

A 16-year-old arrested after two cars were stolen in a Cannock burglary has been released under investigation.

Burglars forced their way into a home in Dorchester Road through a back door in the early hours of Friday morning and stole keys to the vehicles.

The two male offenders drove off in a 17-plate black BMW 5 series and a 16-plate white Ford Kuga. A mobile phone and wallet were also stolen.

Both vehicles started to activate ANPR cameras heading towards Westcroft, West Midlands.

The Ford was involved in a crash and the victim's mobile phone was found inside.

A 16-year-old was arrested and has since been released under investigation. The other offender and the BMW are still outstanding.
