Do you recognise these men?

The pair walked into the M&S Food section of the BP garage off Hagley Road, Oldswinford, on August 25.

They picked up pizzas, beer and wine before casually approaching the checkouts – but instead of paying, they produced a large kitchen knife and a meat cleaver and demanded staff hand over cash from the tills.

The men, who spoke with Black Country accents and were wearing transparent gloves, then bagged the cash, alcohol and food before making off from the garage on foot.

West Midlands Police has now released CCTV footage of the armed raid in the hope that someone will recognise the two men and get in touch with officers.

Both men are described as white males. One is around 6ft tall with a gingery beard and it is believed he was wearing a FitBit or similar type watch on his wrist.

His accomplice is shorter, around 5ft 7 and of a stockier build.

It is understood both offenders spoke with local accents and they stuffed the cash and items into a navy and white beach-type bag.

Detective Sergeant Mark Dent said: "The men act in a very blasé manner collecting items from the shelves and approaching the tills – but as soon as they get to the checkouts both produce knives and demand staff put money in their bag.

“There were several shoppers in the store along with staff but thankfully no-one was injured.

“Anyone who believes it’s OK to brandish knives in public needs to be caught quickly.

"I would ask anyone who thinks they recognise the men – or anyone who was in the area at the time and remembers seeing the men – to get in touch."

Anyone with information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 20DY/202423H/19.
