Ms Rose's younger sister Yvonne Waterfield, known to family as Von, said she was heartbroken at the loss.

She said: "My sister Lyn was not just my sister but also my best friend.

"I'm heartbroken and would do anything to have her back. The laughs we shared, the memories I will treasure forever.

"I will never forget our journey through life together. Sleep tight and until we meet again and start another journey together.

"You will always be in my heart, forever and always."

Ms Rose's niece, Kelly Waterfield, added that her auntie was lovely and had a "heart of gold".

Inderjit Ram, aged 52 of Wensleydale Road, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court this morning charged with her murder.

He was remanded in custody and will next appear at Birmingham Crown Court this Wednesday.
