Six Stourport businesses burgled in overnight spate

Six businesses in a Wyre Forest town have been burgled in an overnight spate.

Thieves have targeted a series of businesses in Stourport town centre between 12.30am and 2.40am on August 13.

The affected premises are all located in York Street, High Street and Lombard Street.

West Mercia Police officers are now appealing to residents in the town to come forward if they saw anything suspicious in the area.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police are appealing to Stourport residents for information following a series of business burglaries in the town centre.

"Six businesses have been burgled by unknown persons in Stourport town centre overnight on August 13.

"Offenders have forced entry to the businesses and stolen cash, tip jars, electric cigarettes, mobile phones and a laptop. A blue VW Touran was stolen from York Street after the keys were obtained from an attacked premises.

"Officers are encouraging the community to call police if they witness any persons acting suspiciously in and around Stourport, or may have seen a blue VW Golf in the vicinity between the offence times."
