Appeal after cruel thugs terrorise then kill duck in Netherton
The RSPCA is investigating after a group of thugs were filled terrorising a duck before killing the poor animal.
The cowardly attack took place on Netherton Canal, in Dudley, on Tuesday (16) at around 8.45pm.
A witness who was with a friend filmed the distressing incident before they bravely confronted the group, who then fled the scene.
An RSPCA spokesperson said: “This is a very distressing video. We would appeal for anyone with information about this to contact us on 03001238018.”
The thugs use a fishing rod to catch the duck before reeling the bird onto the canal towpath.
They then dragged the terrified creature about before killing it, said the witness.
The witness said: "I am disgusted to see the behaviour I have seen tonight on the canal with my mates, truly disgusted.
"You think it's a laugh to hook onto a duck and kill it? We all saw you rag off with it and dragging it around.
"You are being reported to the police and environmental agency and don't worry I have proof.
"We did intervene but they started to run with the bird and was unable to catch them!"
