Stolen car found submerged in river by West Bromwich police

Police recovered two stolen vehicles in the Sandwell area – including one that had been dumped in the river.

West Bromwich Police shared photos on social media after finding the two stolen cars on the Yew Tree estate on Saturday.

One of the cars, a Seat, had been stolen previously from the Tividale area.

It was later found by the officers in the River Tame and recovered for forensic examination.

They also discovered a burnt-out Peugeot – believed to have been stolen in Tipton.

A spokesman from West Midlands Police said: "A Seat which was stolen from Tividale was recovered from the River Tame, of Pimpernel Drive, yesterday. It will be assessed for forensic examination.

"The burnt-out vehicle is believed to have been a Peugeot stolen from Tipton.

"Enquiries continue."
