Driver pulled from burning overturned car after A34 crash

A suspected drink driver was pulled from a burning car after crashing into a brick wall.

The car ended up on its side after crashing into the wall on the A34 between Cannock and Stafford last night.

Firefighters arrived at the scene seconds after the car caught fire with the driver still trapped inside, according to police.

Staffordshire Police Response said the driver was "lucky to be alive".

They posted on Twitter last night saying: "A34 between Cannock and Stafford this evening - single vehicle collision with a brick wall.

"This drink driver is lucky to be alive. @StaffsFire arrived literally 30 secs after the car caught fire with the driver trapped inside. Great work at the scene by @OFFICIALWMAS & #Shift3"
