Boy, 17, attacked with machete near Bilston Primary School

A teenager was attacked with a machete 100 metres away from a primary school in Wolverhampton.

The 17-year-old boy suffered hand injuries in the violence which broke out near Bilston C of E Primary School yesterday, West Midlands Police said.

The boy was attacked by a group armed with a machete near Millfields Stores in Coronation Road, around 100 metres away from the school, at around 3pm.

When paramedics arrived the injured boy was nowhere to be seen but he was later found around one mile away on Dean's Road.

The extent of his injuries are not yet known.

Coronation Road and Albany Crescent, which leads to the school, were filled with police as parents arrived to pick up their children at 3.30pm.

Three men have since been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

West Midlands Police spokesman Craig Hughes said:"Anyone with information is asked to contact police via live chat at www.west-midlands.pnn.police.uk between 8am and midnight or call on 101 anytime. Quote log number 1464 of 3/7/19."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman added: "We were called to Coronation Road at 2.56pm to reports of an assault.

"One ambulance, two paramedic officers and a triage car with a paramedic on board attended the scene.

"No patients were at the scene, but we later treated a man on Dean's Road following the incident.

"He was given trauma care on scene and taken to hospital.

"We received multiple 999 calls about this incident."
