This video shows the moment burglars broke into a home in the Black Country just metres away from a CCTV camera.

CCTV footage shows two men breaking into a house through a window

The footage, viewed tens of thousands of times on Facebook, shows the step-by-step process two burglars used to force open a window of a house on Marriott Road in Netherton.

One man is seen climbing into the home through the prised-open window while the second man disappears around a side alley.

The two crooks messily searched the house for around 30 minutes and made off with cash, a gold ring and keys after breaking in at around 8.40pm on June 16 and fleeing before police arrived.

The video, captured in the home's back garden, has since been viewed more than 267,000 times on two of the Facebook pages it's been shared on - Spotted Netherton and Birmingham HD CCTV.

The footage begins with one hooded man - dressed in a dark blue coat and black trousers - trying to force open a ground floor window from the outside, with what appears to be a crowbar.

After initially failing he walks over to a garden fence where a second hooded man - dressed in a blue coat and grey trousers - climbs over the fence and joins him.

The second man is also equipped with a long tool. Both men then begin trying to force open the window of what appears to be a kitchen.

After several seconds of attempts, the first man points to the second man to be on the look out - all while they are unaware they are being filmed on a camera in the back garden.
