A man was found with serious head and face injuries outside a Walsall school.

Two police cars were at the scene and it has been reported that paramedics were also in the area.

Police have now said a 31-year-old man was found in the street with serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

He is in a stable condition, according to West Midlands Police.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to reports of a man found with head injuries on Bescot Street, Walsall at around 5.25pm yesterday.

"A 31-year-old man was taken to hospital with head and facial injuries where he remains in a serious but stable condition."
