Walsall barber shop shooting suspect released amid investigation

A teenager arrested after a man was shot in the stomach in a Walsall barber shop has been released.

Police have confirmed that the 19-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released on police bail under "strict conditions."

His bail term will end on June 17.

This comes after a 23-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound after the attack at Katz Kutz barbers on Wolverhampton Road in Birchills at around 5pm on Sunday.

Police say he remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

In their latest appeal for information, police asked to speak to witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage who may have seen a black BMW X1.

The barbers shop was cordoned off after the shooting yesterday

They confirmed that a BMW was later found burnt out and officers believe it may have been used as a getaway car.
