'BB gun' fired at cars on busy Stourport road
A number of cars have been shot at on a busy route near Stourport.
Police are appealing for information after a series of incidents where cars were shot at by pellets or ball bearings on the A4025 Worcester Road over the weekend.
Officers believe that a BB gun or similar weapon was used to randomly target vehicles along the route.
The incidents, which police are treating as linked, were reported between Friday and Monday.
Safer neighbourhood team inspector Jake Wright, from West Mercia Police, said: "Thankfully no one has been injured as a result of these incidents but we are appealing to the public for their help in identifying those responsible.
"Shooting any weapon in a public place without the appropriate safeguards in place creates significant risk to the wider community, but to allow pellets or ball bearings to strike passing cars - whether done so intentionally or not - is very dangerous.
"While investigations are ongoing, local officers have been patrolling the area making door-to-door enquiries and offering reassurance to the local community.
"I would urge anyone with any information to contact my local policing team as soon as possible to allow us to take appropriate action."
Anyone with any information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident number 777s of May 18.
