Man stabbed in the back after altercation at Dudley flats
A man was stabbed in the back after an altercation at a block of flats in Dudley.
A group of men banged on the door of the Tudor House building, in Highgate Road, Woodside, on Monday morning, before stabbing a resident in the back.
The resident, a man in his 50s, was rushed to hospital with injuries – where he remains today.
West Midlands Police has now launched an investigation in the stabbing and is appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
A spokesman for the force said: "Police are investigating a stabbing at Tudor House on Highgate Road in Dudley just after 10.30am on Monday.
"A group of men are understood to have been banging on the door and pressing the intercom. A 51-year-old resident opened the door and, following an altercation, he was stabbed in the lower back.
"He was taken to hospital but his injury is not life changing or life threatening. He remains in hospital today.
"Enquiries continue and anyone with information is asked to contact police."
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman added: "We were called to reports of an assault at around 10.30am. On arrival, we discovered one patient, a man, who was treated for serious injuries.
"He was taken to hospital for further treatment. One ambulance, a paramedic officer and Midlands Air Ambulance's critical care car attended."
