Smethwick road blocked after disorder and car crash

Police blocked a road after a row broke out following a car crash in Smethwick.

West Midlands Police said they were called to reports of a "disorder" in Shireland Road just after 12.30pm today.

They said the disorder took place after a collision involving two cars.

Two people suffered minor injuries.

Photos from the scene showed police blocking the road, while the incident unfolded.

The force has now launched an investigation into the incident and is calling for anyone with information to contact them.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Officers were called to reports of a disorder on Shireland Road, Smethwick at just after 12:30pm this afternoon.

"It would appear that this took place after a collision involving two cars.

"Two people, a man and a woman, received minor injuries.

"An investigation is underway and anyone with any information is asked to contact us."
