Boy threatened with knife in phone robbery at Quarry Bank park
A school is warning students to be vigilant after a teenager was reported to have been threatened with a knife in a robbery in a nearby park.
Thorns Collegiate Academy, in Quarry Bank, posted the warning on their social media channels after the boy's phone was stolen in Stevens Park on Tuesday night.
West Midlands Police confirmed they were investigating a robbery of a 15-year-old, who was threatened with a knife, at around 8.30pm on May 7.
A spokesman for the force said: "Police are investigating a robbery in Stevens Park, just off Thorns Road in the Quarry Bank area of Dudley, after being called just before 8.30pm on Tuesday.
"A group of boys approached a 15-year-old and demanded his phone. It is believed they were armed with a knife, but fortunately there are no reported injuries.
"Enquiries continue and anyone with information is asked to contact police."
Thorns Collegiate Academy posted: "It has been brought to our attention that there was an incident at Stevens Park, Quarry Bank, Tuesday night, where a handful of youngsters were threatened and had their mobile phones taken from them.
"West Midlands Police are investigating the incident. We urge our students, and members of the local community, to be vigilant when out walking."
