Man punched in attempted robbery in Halesowen

A man was punched in the head by a thief who demanded he hand over money.

The shocking incident took place at around 7.30pm on Wednesday in Nimmings Road, in Halesowen.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by the male thief who demanded he hand over cash. The victim sustained injuries to his head, after he tried to fight off the thief and was punched a number of times.

West Midlands Police are now investigating the attempted robbery.

A spokesman for the force said: "A man in his 20s was approached by another man who demanded money and tried to take things out of his pocket.

"The victim fought off the offender and sustained injuries to his head after being punched a number of times. He managed to run away before calling an ambulance."
