Man charged over Stafford stabbings

A man has appeared in court after a man and woman were stabbed in Stafford.

Shanny Elvis Boswell, aged 34, of Glover Street, Stafford, pleaded not guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm after two people were stabbed in Stone Road, Stafford, on Thursday.

The two victims, a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s, were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Boswell appeared in court at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Friday. He is due to appear next at Stafford Crown Court on May 2. Armed police attended the address following the incident and the road was closed off.
