Arrests after spate of lead thefts from Black Country homes

Two teenagers and a man have been arrested after a spate of lead thefts across the Black Country.

Officers have been called to a spate of five burglaries involving the theft of lead from homes in Tividale, Cradley Heath, Rowley Regis and Quarry Bank.

Two 17-year-old boys and a 23-year-old man were arrested on March 21 and have since been bailed.

West Midlands Police's Force Response tweeted saying: "C unit Brierley Hill have three males after numerous thefts of lead in Dudley.

"They were found unloading the lead at one of their houses from their van.

"We now have the stolen lead, two stolen mopeds and their CCTV hard drive which will show them unloading the lead."

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of cannabis.

"A second 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of theft from a home.

"A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft, assaulting a police officer, obstruction of a police officer and theft of a car.

"All three have been bailed pending police inquiries."
