Checks of Farndale Avenue, in Whitmore Reans, were being carried out by police

Police are investigating after the trouble in Farndale Avenue, Whitmore Reans, at 11.30pm last night.

A man was taken to hospital with 'relatively minor injuries' said West Midlands Ambulance Service.

An ambulance and two paramedic officers were joined at the scene by a specialist doctor.

WATCH footage from the scene:

Cara Lanni, a West Midlands Police spokeswoman, said: "It is believed two shots were fired following a disorder between neighbours and as a result a man suffered injuries to his head, which are not believed to be serious."

Police said windows had been damaged at a house and multiple cars were smashed.

In the aftermath of the incident a stretch of the road up to Glaisdale Gardens was cordoned off.

Three police vans were on sight and officers could be seen scouring the scene, searching underneath cars, in bushes and outside one of the properties on the road.

A resident, who did not wished to be named, said: “I heard gunshots and my son was so scared.

“There was a big commotion and shouting before and after the bang, it was scary.

“There’s always something happening, my son doesn’t like going outside and he was petrified to leave for the school bus this morning.

“It’s horrible but the norm now, it’s beyond a joke.

“It was a loud bang, it wasn’t a normal noise and must have been a shotgun.

“It happened at around 11pm I think, it made my son fall to the ground and I ran from the living room to his bedroom and we moved to the back of the house.“

Another person living in the street added: “I’ve been here for 18 years, I have two kids, and this is close to home, I’m thinking about moving.

“You shouldn’t have to be used to this but we are, it’s normal now.”

A man who lives nearby, who wished to not be named, said: "All sorts of things happen here, you get used to it.

"We see so much happening on the news everywhere nowadays.

"This road specifically is fairly quiet but when things happen I don't let it worry me."
