Appeal after man attacked and robbed on train

A man has been attacked and robbed on a train heading from the Black Country to Birmingham.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was having an argument with two other men before all three boarded the train at Walsall.

The two men chased the victim through the Birmingham-bound train and assaulted him before stealing items from his pocket.

All three then left the train at Birmingham New Street station.

Police are now appealing for information to trace the suspects.

A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: "The first suspect is described as black, 6ft, aged around 20-years-old and of medium build. He was wearing all black, black trainers and a black puffer jacket with the hood up.

"The second is described as black, around 5ft 9, around 18-years-old and of slim build. He was wearing a woolly hat and a dark blue or black jacket.

"Anyone who knows the identity of the men, or who witnessed the incident, are asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 and quoting reference 1900017835.

"Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
