Deadly knife haul pulled from canals by Black Country magnet fishers
Knives of all shapes and sizes have been deposited into a weapons surrender bin – after a family discovered them while magnet fishing.
The Hargood family - father Scott and children Logan, McKenzie and Finley - made the discovery after fishing with magnets in the canals of the West Midlands.
The family have found around 25 knives though magnet fishing in the canals.
They have now been deposited at a knife bin at Tesco Extra Walsall, on Littleton Street West.

Marc Jones, a family friend who also takes part in magnet fishing, suggested the family should hand the weapons in as part of the current knife armistice.
Marc was joined by nine-year-old Finley and a PCSO officer who oversaw the knives being handed over.
Magnet fishing involves throwing a small but powerful magnet far into the canal, pulling it slowly across the bed back towards the wall and seeing what comes up with it.
The 42-year-old said: “We go all over the Black Country. Some of the knives which we pulled out were in Tividale and the Birmingham area.
“We go to different canals and one of the strangest was a home-made one in Walsall.
“They are all quite dangerous. They are sharp, most of them are kitchen knives that we’ve been finding.”
Mr Hargood said the finds no longer shock him after his son McKenzie found a sawn-off shotgun last year.
The staggering found was trawled out of Pitford Lane in Oldbury, with police being called afterwards to reclaim the weapon.
