Craig Totney, from Halesowen, was found with a Taser and CS spray at his Bournebrook Crescent home on November 13 last year.

Officers also found a Taser disguised as a torch at Ruth Hollingsworth's address in Cecil Road, Selly Park, on the same day after a search warrant was carried out at both address.

Totney, 39, had supplied the torch Taser to Hollingsworth, aged 32, for her own protection – knowing it was illegal to have it "on the street".

Totney thought he could legitimately keep the weapon at home.

He admitted buying the Taser off the internet and in police interview admitted he was surprised it had got through customs.

Both admitted possessing the firearms, Tasers, with Totney also admitted a charge of transferring the Taser.

They pleaded guilty to the offences at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday.

The pair are due to be sentenced on April 1.
