Man in court over number of offences

A 22-year-old man from Walsall has been charged with a number of offences including arson and dangerous driving.

Mitchell Baker, from Dartmouth Avenue, Willenhall, will appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on March 25.

He was remanded into custody after appearing at Walsall Magistrates Court on Saturday (23).

Baker has been charged with burglary, taking without consent, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving with no insurance and driving with no licence.

He has also been charged with arson in relation to a Staffordshire Police investigation.

It’s alleged Baker was involved in a burglary in the Bentley area of Walsall on January 18, where the key to a BMW was taken and stolen off the driveway the next day.

He was also allegedly involved in a police pursuit in the same car two days later, where a pedestrian was knocked over and injured.
