Father issues plea after son punched outside pub suffers bleed on the brain

The family of a man who was left with a bleed on the brain after being punched outside a pub has pleaded for help to find his attackers.

Dominic Del-Giudice fell backwards after being punched in the face near the Brewhouse in Lichfield and hit his head on the ground.

The 21-year-old is being treated in hospital for a serious head injury. Staffordshire Police has released CCTV images of two men they want to trace in connection with the attack. The incident happened at around 3.30am on Sunday.

The victim's father Michael took to social media to appeal for people with information to come forward.

He said: "My son Dominic Del-Giudice got punched in the back of the head from behind (by two lads) in an unprovoked attack on Sunday at 3.30am after a good night out with his mates in Lichfield outside the Brewhouse pub / Millennium Chicken.

"He fell and hit his head on the floor - fracturing his head with a brain bleed!!!!! They ran off towards wilkos. If anyone witnessed this attack or knows anything about it - phone 101 - please please let's get these scumbags!!! Please - any detail at all."

Two men from Burton, aged 22 and 21, are currently helping police with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Scott Martin, of Staffordshire Police, said: “We’re appealing for anyone with information to come forward and help us. This was a serious and unprovoked assault and we know there were lots of people about at that time who may have seen something.”
