Michael Johnson, aged 30, and Ricky Lewis, 33, robbed the store in Bloxwich town centre on May 8.

Both men were captured on CCTV near the store before and after the incident.

Johnson, of no fixed address, threatened the store manager before she opened the safe and emptied the contents into a bag.

He ran off and was joined by two other men who police believe were keeping a look out.

Following extensive CCTV enquiries, police were able to identify Johnson and Ricky Lewis, who is from Ignot Close, in Walsall.

The CCTV showed Johnson, Lewis and an unknown accomplice walking along Harrison Street - wearing masks - just before the offence took place.

The footage also showed them after the robbery heading towards Revival Street.

Detectives were able to seize the clothing worn by Johnson and Lewis following searches made at the time of their arrests.

Both were found guilty of robbery at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday. Johnson was sentenced to three years and four months and Lewis received two years and nine months.

Enquiries are on-going to trace the outstanding suspect.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We’re committed to tackling people causing harm within our communities. This attack was terrifying for the staff at Greggs and we hope their convictions provide some comfort to them."
