Rezwan Ali: New appeal to find Walsall killer one year after house party death
A fresh appeal for information has been launched as police continue to hunt Rezwan Ali's killer one year on.
The teenager died after being stabbed in the chest at a house party in Walsall on January 14 last year.
Despite six people being arrested on suspicion of his murder, nobody has been charged over the 19-year-old's death.
Today detectives launched a new appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
Mr Ali is believed to have been stabbed after a fight broke out at a house party and was pronounced dead at the scene in Willows Road at around 1.45am.
Six teenagers were later arrested on suspicion of his murder but all were released pending further investigation.
Detective Inspector Warren Hines, from the West Midlands Police Homicide team, said: “We believe there was a fight at some stage and that has ultimately led to a young man losing his life.
“I know Rezwan’s family are still looking for answers, and I can assure them that we are absolutely committed to bringing those responsible for his death to justice.
“I’d ask anyone with any information that can help our enquiry, who hasn’t yet spoken to us for whatever reason, to get in touch.
“I would also ask the person or people responsible to do the right thing and get in touch so that I can hear your side of the story.
“Rezwan’s death was a tragic loss of life and my thoughts remain with his family and friends."
