Cannabis plants found packed into home after burglary

Thousands of pounds worth of drugs has been seized at a home near Great Barr.

Around 150 plants were seized by police.

Police stumbled across 150 cannabis plants after responding to reports of a burglary at the address in Hamstead Road, Hamstead.

Officers arrived at the home at around 7.40pm yesterday after neighbours reported that intruders had kicked the door in.

The front door was kicked in by intruders.

When they arrived they discovered thousands of pounds worth of cannabis plants that were being cultivated inside.

Around 150 plants were seized by police.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to a burglary at an address in Hamstead Road, Birmingham yesterday.

"Neighbours reported that the front door of the property had been kicked in by intruders at around 7.40pm.

"Officers arrived at the property to find a cannabis farm inside it. Approximately 150 plants were seized.

"No-one was present at the house and no arrests have been made.
