Catalin Zaharia and Constantin Stoian, both aged 29, Marian Molocia, aged 27, Daniel Stoean, aged 35, and 27-year-old woman Florina Spiru all appeared at Birmingham Crown Court today charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.

The group are alleged to be part of a sophisticated burglary gang that operated during darker nights during the winter months to target hundreds of properties across the region.

The suspects are thought to have targeted affluent properties while on the hunt for jewellery and other valuables, before they flew home to Romania in the New Year.

They have been charged for a string of offences that took place from 2015 up until they were arrested on December 10 2018.

It's claimed they struck hundreds of homes across the West Midlands, Staffordshire and wider areas such as Gloucestershire and West Mercia.

The group have remanded in prison and are scheduled to appear back at Birmingham Crown Court on April 5 where they are expected to enter a plea to their charges.
