Three arrests as Oldbury police chase ends in crash

Three suspected car thieves have been arrested after a police chase ended in a crash in the Black Country.

Police arrested three men after a Vauxhall Corsa failed to stop for officers in Sandwell yesterday.

The suspects were chased by police through Oldbury before heading off road.

The car, which had false numberplates, eventually became stranded on a grass verge where the chase ended in Penncricket Lane, Oldbury.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: "Three men have been arrested on suspicion of car theft after a police chase ended in Penncricket Lane in Oldbury just after 1pm yesterday afternoon.

"Two men aged 21 and one aged 22 remain in police custody this morning."
