Detectives believe Keith O'Dwyer, of Beaconview Road, helped Michael Foran, 32, escape to Liverpool after the death of Foran's former partner June Jones.

Police found June Jones, 33, dead at her maisonette, in Wyndmill Crescent, West Bromwich, on New Year's Eve after she was reported missing by her sister on Boxing Day.

She had been in a relationship with Michael Foran.

UPDATE:

Officers forced entry into her home at 2am where Miss Jones' body was discovered. There was evidence of a "sustained and brutal attack with a weapon", police said.

Police believe O'Dwyer took Michael Foran to Liverpool on New Year's Eve.

O'Dwyer, who appeared at Walsall Magistrates' Court today, has been charged with "intent to impede the apprehension" of Michael Foran.

He was remanded into police custody and will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on January 10. He is expected to enter a not guilty plea.

An appeal was launched to trace Michael Foran in the wake of Miss Jones' death and police have received a number of calls from the public.
