Woman 'slashed across face' by attacker outside Walsall pub

A woman was 'slashed across the face' near a Walsall pub on Christmas Eve.

A man, in his mid-20s, attacked the victim with a sharp object at around 11.15pm outside the Bridge Tavern in Bentley Lane, Willenhall.

The woman was severely injured, West Midlands Police said.

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident and police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "Police are investigating after a woman was slashed across the face in the Bridge Tavern on Bentley Lane, Willenhall, on Christmas Eve.

"The woman, in her early 20s, suffered a severe facial injury at around 11.15pm, when a man in his mid-20s - who was known to her - attacked her with a sharp implement. He then left the pub.

"No-one has been arrested and investigations to locate the offender are ongoing."
