Family tied up by burglars at Wolverhampton home
Two children and a woman were tied up by a gang of burglars in a raid on a house in Wolverhampton.
Officers arrived as the burglary was still in progress at a house in Sandringham Road, Penn, on Thursday.
Four people were arrested – but only after police chased down the suspects and used their Tasers.
The woman and two children were found by officers tied up and still inside the property.
West Midlands Police’s Force Response Unit said on Twitter: “Four very dangerous offenders off the streets. Great work by all.”
Police have so far refused to comment further on the case but neighbours were left stunned.
Parminder Kaur, aged 50, said: “I didn’t see anything but my niece told me about it, she saw police cars and ambulances there.
“It’s very worrying, to hear what has happened is scary. I’ve not seen anything like this on this road before and I’ve been here for 18 years. We need to be more careful when we’re going out and staying in, to keep the house safe.”
Lyndsay Carter, aged 29, said: “ I was absolutely mortified because it is such a quiet road and it’s not a big road either.
“It’s horrible, I’ve just had my newborn baby and I have another little boy, so the thought of anybody breaking in when they’re there is really scary.
“I’m scared to answer the door, I’m petrified.
"I heard a police car but didn’t think anything of it, but I haven’t seen anything since.
"I’ve lived here for two years now and nothing like this has happened, it’s quiet, so I don’t know why they would pick that house.
"You don’t think it would happen in your own area, especially here as it’s a nice area, it’s not known for being rough.
"We’ll be keeping our garage and all our doors locked now.”
