A woman fought off would-be carjackers during an attack on a council's car park.

Police have made two arrests

Two teenagers struck as the victim was getting into her car at South Staffordshire Council's main offices on Wolverhampton Road, Codsall.

Police said the woman was assaulted but fought back against one of her attackers before both fled empty handed towards Codsall train station.

The attack happened at around 5.45pm on Thursday.

Two men from Wolverhampton, aged 17 and 18, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of the attempted theft of a motor vehicle.

They have since been released as the investigation continues.

DS Tony La Planche, from Staffordshire Police CID, said: “We’re extremely keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around that time or who may have dash-cam footage.

"If you think you can help with our investigation, please call us on 101 quoting Incident 553 of December 13.”
