Boy needs stitches after Dudley 'bottle' attack

A teenager needed stitches to his neck after being attacked in Dudley with what is believed to have been a glass bottle.

Police were called to the corner of Tower Street and New Street in the town centre, where two 16-year-olds were injured during a row involving a group of youths.

Both teens were taken to hospital after the disturbance yesterday lunchtime.

One boy required stitches and was later discharged to recover at home, while the other suffered a minor cut to his ear which did not need medical attention.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and has since been released pending investigations.

Claire Brown, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 12.46pm yesterday to outside The Court House.

"We sent one ambulance and two paramedic officers and treated two patients with minor injuries who were both taken to hospital for further treatment."
