Nathen Bayliss said the thieves broke into his house in Willenhall and took the keys to the black Audi S3 Quattro Black Edition S-Tronic – which he describes as his 'pride and joy'.

The 40-year-old, from Hollow Croft Road, said: "It was quite a distressing experience.

"It was just a normal evening on October 19 and I woke up to some disturbance outside.

WATCH the moment the Audi was stolen:

"I could hear gravel and a car engine and I didn't think anything of it until I heard a bump and knew something was wrong.

"I looked out the window to see men with balaclavas running away and the car being driven out of the driveway.

"You could hear my car getting further away.

"The police arrived and when I went to open the door it fell apart in my hand.

"The door was quite severely damaged and they did this while we were sleeping upstairs with the window open.

"The police last saw the car on Junction 10 of the M6 and it seems to have vanished from there.

"There was three of them on camera but we believe there's one more in a car waiting around the corner."

Once inside the property, the thieves took Mr Bayliss' car keys and wallet in just six seconds.

CCTV footage, posted by Nathen, shows the gang of thieves stealing the car from the driveway.

Nathen, who works as a construction manager, said his wife and two step-children were in the house at the time.

He added: "My wife was very distressed and we've lost a fair bit of sleep because of it.

"The children found it quite distressing, too. We haven't shown them any video footage because we feel it might scare them even more."

The car, only 11 months old, has the registration YE67 ZXH.
