Boy, 15, arrested for attempted murder after Brownhills stabbing

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in a Brownhills street.

The victim, aged 21, remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital after he was attacked in Fourth Avenue last night.

The incident happened at around 6.20pm in the Avenues Estate just off Lichfield Road and Chase Road.

The 15-year-old suspect remains in police custody after he was arrested today.

Police, who are appealing for witnesses, said the man was stabbed after a row with a group riding bikes.

An ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the road, which remained cordoned off with blue tape on Wednesday morning.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Detectives investigating a stabbing in Brownhills last night have arrested a teenager on suspicion of attempted murder.

"The 15-year-old boy has been taken into police custody for questioning.

"The victim suffered serious injuries in Fourth Avenue after a dispute with a group on bikes.

"The man, aged 21, remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a patient who had been assaulted on Fourth Avenue, Brownhills at 6.16pm last night.

"One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended together with the Midlands Air Ambulance Crew from Cosford in a rapid response car.

"On arrival at the scene we discovered one patient, a man.

"He was treated for serious injuries and transported to hospital for further assessment."
